Quick Play: Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition
Actually, I should have taken my 5-year-old to kindergarten. But sometimes you have to set priorities and sit accordingly. Namely sitting on the couch together to quickly play the Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition on my Xbox Series S.
Let's keep it short and sweet for the 10 minutes I played: The graphics update is brilliant. The charm of the original has been preserved, including the angular shapes underneath the now beautiful high-resolution textures. The gameplay has aged quite a bit, but it doesn't detract from the overall package. I quickly fell in love with Jade and Pey'j again, felt transported back in time and knew that the story would continue to develop strongly.
And then came the very special moment when my daughter said that it was pretty scary... So the moment when I switched off and thought to myself: brilliant, I have to continue playing this later.
